Big fan of this project, thank you all for your hard work and sharing.

I've only been using it for a month or so with the latest versions available. Here a few of the requests that I have.

1. Docker container option for web site. I like the idea of having a public website separate from the Pi, but I don't want to run a VM just for the website. I'm thinking of trying this on my own, but I've never created a container before. I'm running Unraid at home, so I would plan to run the allsky-website docker container there. I'm pretty sure using SCP to move the files from Pi to Unraid would work well. This is also a good backup location for all of the files I want to save long term.

2. Separate timelapse for daytime vs night time. I like saving day images since I have plenty of space on my sdcard, but I don't like how it creates one long time lapse with day and night.

3. An easy way to resize the website image on the /allsky/index.php page. Maybe I just haven't come across the correct post yet, but I've read the image is set to 960px width, but I haven't found the setting to adjust it. It looks large in the admin gui, but much smaller on the website.

I've seen some screenshots of the new admin gui and I'm antsy to try it out. Thanks again!

@Alex-developer, do you have a Docker module or are working on one?

@czech12 Other people have requested a Docker container. I think it's on our to-do list.

2. You can do this using a script in the day-to-night and night-to-day flows but in order to see them on a web page code changes are needed. The 2 files need unique names and need to be uploaded. The web pages need to be aware of the names.
   If you don't care about the web pages you can call GenerateForDay.sh with the --image FILE argument, passing a list of files to process, e.g., day or night files.

3. Look at the documentation page on Allsky Website. It describes the settings for the image size.

Hey @czech12 I am attempting to do the exact same thing as you, I have setup nginx-php8 on my unraid server pointing to the allsky directory share on my server, copied all of the html directories from the pi per the instructions and ran the ~/allsky/website/install.sh --remote command which completed successfully.

Now when I go to the website (on the Unraid IP and port) all I get is:

ERROR: Unable to process settings file '/home/pi/allsky/config/settings.json'. File /home/pi/allsky/config/settings.json not found!

Did you run into this issue at all?

@EricClaeys I also don't have remote_configuration.json available in my editor, only configuration.json (local Allsky Website) is present in the dropdown

I suggest upgrading to v2024.12.06 and then upgrading the remote Website using the instructions on the Installing/Upgrading -> Allsky and Allsky Website Documentation pages from the WebUI.
The the remoteWebsiteInstall.sh command will create the remote_configuration.json file.
The new release has much better troubleshooting capabilities.

I was able to get it to work, turned out to be a problem with my nginx setup, didn't like the /allsky/ in the url but works fine without it. Thank you for the help!

Hi Eric, I did run the installer which finished successfully.
My website url is: https://www.[mydomain].nl/allsky/amstelwijck/

please attach ~/allsky/config/logs/remoteWebsiteInstall.log.
From what I can tell, your website URL points to a different place on the server than where all the Website files were uploaded.
Do the following:

chmod 755 ~/allsky/scripts/utilities/comparePaths.sh
allsky-config compare_paths --website

and post the results, plus attach all the files in ~/allsky/tmp/comparePaths.sh-WEBSITE; there should be at least 2, and hopefully 4.

As a small note: the ftp login is set to directly access the assigned root folder https://www.[mydomain].nl/allsky/amstelwijck/

Your remote Website Image Directory is set to allsky, so all the files were uploaded there, and not in the root folder on the server.
Clear out that setting, remove the allsky directory on the ftp server, and re-run remoteWebsiteInstall.sh

The upload-ls.txt and web-ls.txt files mentioned in your screenshot show the contents of the directory where the files are uploaded to, and the contents of the directory where the URL points to.
