Amazingly all works fine except that the bar takes too long to start. Things like telegram-desktop and nextcloud start much earlier. When waybar starts, it displays an empty tray. I don't know if it's because it starts after the applications that need the tray of something else. It could be that there are multiple problems:
tray taking ages to start
icons not displaying.
wonder if this is known and if there's a workaround for it, like possibly waiting for waybar to start before starting the other programs that need the tray.

I'm on 0.9.16 (latest) and there were multiple issues with the version you currently use (#1792) even this tray-issue is not mentioned in the release-info specifically - I would highly suggest to upgrade. As far as reported (logs could be helpful too) I can't reproduce the issue with the latest release even if I stop all waybar processes (having telegram-desktop, slack, ferdium and even gammastep which has it tray issues) running and relaunch waybar all tray-icons show up again as I would expect it. (even there are some warnings in the output that they are already registered)
sway 1.7, waybar 0.9.15
