I thought it could be pretty interesting to add support for "rolling up" the same applications in the 'wlr/taskbar' module.
A lot of other DE/WM do this already. For instance in GNOME when you hit 'alt-tab' only one instance of an app shows, by hovering over it, it shows each instance and allows you to pick one.
I'm however, not even sure if this is possible with Waybar, I'm not sure if it supports creating another full featured GTK window on 'hover'. Would it be possible?
