Done:
Fabrication Training:

  • Almost all did half of fab training (drill press, bandsaw, pvc glue), still need to go over drilling with hole saw and welding, maybe set up practice period as well.

Meeting with Ruth and Egidio:

  • Mary: M.eng may also be working with UASB, currently working with Ruth on calculations for biogas
  • IAWWTF visit on Monday, 2:55pm. Will be setting up reactor: drain system, biogas, and influent. If we have time can fill reactor with some sludge. Ruth and Egidio also have granules from a brewery. Can use 10L brewery granules, 10L aeration tank sludge, 10L anaerobic digester sludge as starter.
  • Peristaltic Pump, start out at 8 hours HRT= 12.5 L/hr = 0.21 L/min
  • Maybe get a camera for wet test meter--> won't have to constantly go back and forth from IAWWTF to see how much biogas produced.
  • Table, pump, computer all in IAWWTF
  • Future testing: BOD has to be tested at IAWWTF (once a week?), FOG and sludge will take a while to build up, Biogas (amount measured at IAWWTF? and composition tested at Cornell?), Turbidity, nutrient, hydrogen sulfide, e.coli

EHS Training

  • Egidio bringing a kit for health and safety at IAWWTF
  • Need to wear gloves, goggles/face shield, tivek (liquid resistant covering, shoe covers/ bleach solution/ old pair of shoes. Bring old clothes. Long sleeves, long pants, closed flat shoes.
  • Possibly need to train everyone

Things to Do:

  • Email Jose about what types of testing they do with wastewater treatment, i.e. BOD, COD, Hydrogen Sulfide, nutrients, pathogen (E. Coli), turbidity. and what can we test there.
  • Create scheduling for future testing. Create document for what needs to be tested when.
  • Possibly set up EHS training
  • Bring to IAWWTF: wet test meter, ordered parts, buckets

Questions:

  • Do people want to be cc-ed in all emails?
  • Better way of communication, a lot of meetings to keep track of. Slack calendar?

@ezl5 You can tag other members into the issue if any action items require responses. Also I would recommend adding more context in the issue header to make it easier to find. Github also allows the use of tags for categories so definitely make use of that too if you will find that helpful. Great job overall!
