Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Lately the major version number of this project have changed rapidly. In many projects a major number change indicates potentially breaking changes. This makes it a bit scary to update the package.

Describe the solution you'd like
A changelog (linked from the README or attached to the release tag) would make it a bit easier to know if there are issues to look into when updating.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Another alternative is to stick with minor and patch number updates for non-breaking changes and only use major version changes for big breaking changes.
