Idea: add new part “WCAG 2.1” to ADG

  • General knowledge about how to fulfill WCAG criteria
    • References from explanation document
  • Instructions on how to examine
    • Possibly as video
  • Good / bad case examples as video

A first draft:

wcag 2 1 in adg

As spoken in the Hackday 13, it would be good to first know: who our users are, who we intend to target and make a vision on how the ADG should be done in the future.

  1. Define the target groups (personas)
  2. Create a new vision for the ADG
  3. Structure the information accordingly

Couple of comments from my side:

General knowledge about how to fulfill WCAG criteria

I feel like that is already written in the WCAG specification. If I use the quick reference of WCAG, I find plenty of helpful material. Taking the example of 1.4.10, the quick reference from WCAG looks like this, referencing to the techniques of the WCAG spec.

We should define which gap the ADG wants to fill here.

Instructions on how to examine

That might be helpful. I would suggest not to use videos, in terms of how fast the browser tools seem to evolve. A text manual is easier to update.

Good / bad case examples as video

A better approach from my point of view would be to add screenshots with descriptions, as for the same reasons mentioned above.
