Something I read on the latest beta GOG client update is they reduced how often the stats on the Recent page update. So I don't know if that might change how long it takes for stuff to show, even if the plugin is working properly. |

Ok, weird. Now it's not syncing all my games, just a few hundred then it stops. Doesn't crash, but no more games and no achieves/playtime sync. It worked fine the first run I did, how strange. |

Looping in @don-de-marco any thoughts as to why this is popping? Is it possible the friends list is also too big and that's throttling us? Or is it trying to handle too many tasks at once and throttling the friends list? Edit for clarity: this is version 1.0.5 beta but with a patch to fix a password issue. So i had to bump the version to 1.0.6 beta and that's confusing af. Just wanted to clarify |

I have some extreme optimizations i can try in the conversion but I'd rather not until it's necessary. I can cache messages we receive and prices them when we have time. This could cut down on processing - if steam sends us friend status updates several times before gog galaxy asks for them, we only need to process the newest one. In theory i could dump all the data parsing to a new process but that complicates the code very quickly. |

Sorry for the late response, been away for a few days because of work. From how I understand it, all these problem report messages are Galaxy reporting something to Gog via their error reporting channel. The "discarding problem..." etc messages is just them telling us that they didn't send this specific error report (probably to not spam their backend with identical reports). Much more of interest to us would be the events which led the request of stopping the plugin - those happen earlier to said error reports and are cut off from your excerpt |

Im not sure if it didn't update the plugin, when i installed it was 1.0.5 and it changed to 1.0.6 after restart @don-de-marco |

yeah, that's the auto-update. i didn't push my change to the manifest so it still has version 1.0.5 in it which triggers an update. please adjust the version in the manifest to something absurd (e.g. 9999.9.9.9) so that Galaxy doesn't override your manually installed code |

I updated better proto deps a little while ago to say 1.1.0 iirc, idk if that's part of your branch. If not you could probably cherry pick that commit and merge it in |

it still behaves weirdly, i saw it saying "importing steam xx%" for a one sec, and then in logs it said that it couldn't import games for steam cause of "timeout". I still see the plugin retrieving the games and DLCs but nothing gets added to the app. |

I'm not sure how much the sync process can be improved, but it took 11mins to sync all my achievements from a fresh plugin install which seems excessive. It does run much better than it previously did, especially on game import, but it's still very finicky. |

crashed after a couple hours, happened about 17:41:10 was just running in the background at the time. crash happened at line 26548 in the GalaxyClient.log, i think. |

have you fixed this? i reckon this is causing all the problems you're experiencing. I don't think the local size import does harm us. Only takes a few seconds and shouldn't block/timeout anything |

Double recv during shutdown shouldn't matter because we're shutting down. But if it's what's causing the shutdown, I've tried fixing that before with a few bandaid fixes and none seemed to kill it permanently. The run loop in websocket client needs cleaning for that to get fixed. |

ok, i've updated the script. @lackovic try this one (unzip, overwrite the one you had before with this one. Make sure the batch file and zip are in the same directory. It will now use the full path it expects the zip to be at (extracted from the full path of the executing batch file) before calling powershell. It will also write this to the console, which you can see if you run the script from command prompt (or powershell, technically). |

This worked for me. It has lasted several Exit / Launch cycles. It enabled the Chat sidebar for Steam to the right of the Galaxy program as well. |

This release addresses an issue for people with passwords longer than Steam's 64 character limit (steam ignores these extra characters, we did not), and also addresses the issue of "illegal" characters steam strips out (we left them in). It also addresses issues raised at GOG-Nebula#1
This version includes the zipped releases both as standalone, and a version that includes the install script. This will be updated when a MacOS release is ready.
This version does not have any relation to 1.0.6Alpha, which is testing vastly different code.
