After installing your software, I miraculously have a folder C:\ProgramFiles\gs and my "Programs and Features" list has ghostscript in it.

If you need ghostscript, please include the binaries in your software and don't install gs as a separate software without the users consent. And why does my computer need a restart after installing your software? Did you also manipulate system files?

You are using elevated rights to perform actions, that I did not know about. I cannot recommend this software to anyone under those circumstances. 😠

Hi Daniel,

Thanks a lot for your comment. Here are my answers:

  1. Use binaries... sounds like a good point. I have not touched the code for months but will change this with the next update. This might take a while as my focus is currently elsewhere.
  2. Hmm, I thought I mentioned it somewhere that the Free OCR tool uses Ghostscript. Maybe I did not? As with (1), I will verify and update the installer with the next update. But also: As you probably now, Ghostscript is a completely harmless open-source software and is used to enable the PDF OCR feature in the OCR software.
  3. I have no idea why your computer needs a reboot. I don't touch any system files, and can only assume it is something within the Ghostscript installer. So (1) should fix this, too.

Last but not least: This software is a spare-time project and is open-source for a reason. I happily accept pull requests that improve any of these items ;-)
