Describe the bug

When I used a widgets inside the default widget location with a stacked layout, the widgets I remove stays here as far as Android knows.

I know that because :

  • Windy app keeps updating a widget that is not supposed to be here anymore.
  • Weawow app has a widget settings that allows user to see the widget used on our launcher, and the ones I deleted are still here.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add a widget to the default widget location using a stacked widget.
  2. Remove it
  3. It stays "in memory"(I suppose ?) and keeps gettings and asking for updates.

Does the issue also occur with other 3rd-party launchers?

Problem doesn't occur with other launchers

Other 3rd-party launcher(s) tested

Nova Launcher did not have such a behavior, widgets were removed

Thanks for reporting this behavior.

Also, does this happen for all widgets or just the ones you have listed?

Could you please check whether the widgets still show up as being active when you restart the launcher (Niagara settings > Advanced > Restart launcher)?

Hey there, it is the case at least for Windy app and Weawow app, I don't know of any other apps that allow me to see from the app the currently active widgets.

I tried restarting Niagara, and restarting my phone, but the widgets were still found as active from either apps.

Thanks for answering, I hope it'll get fixed as I suppose this generate some unwanted battery consumption ! ✌️
