The way I use ripme, and I'm sure I can't be the only one, is to actually manage and update my reddit pic collection. I put the url in to rip and then re-rip to update new photos in the following days.

It would be nice to press subscribe and have the account entered into a list separate from regular the history. After that there could be an update where it would only download new photos. It should only be available to certain urls, like reddit and flickr.

While the functionality is very similar to history, it could offer certain protections from events such as accidentally clearing your history. There could additionally be auto updating features where you can set a time to update daily or weekly.

I'm not 100% certain that this is the intended use. I just ask that 4pr0n and others be aware that there's a need in the software world for something that could be the heart of their collection like this. I use ripme every day and it's become part of my routine.

I've added a feature that re-populates your history if there is no history.json file found. Only some sites are supported (like reddit), check out #166 for more info.

That's a feature request and that's possible. I've also created something similar for reddit users: https://github.com/4pr0n/gonewilder

That project constantly scrapes reddit for specific users that you specify. It's not very user-friendly, though, and requires knowledge of the command-line.

Sounds like integrating gonewilder functionality into ripme is potentially a very good idea.
