Possible Search Console chores to factor in:

• Ensure indexing
• Check for index errors
• Check Pagespeed Insights
• Review search terms, keywords, links to the site,
• Weight submitting structured data
• Check for security issues

Suggestion: recommendation to claim all versions of primary URL in GWT (now Search Console), and declare a preferred version, e.g. all permutations of http://www, http://, https://, etc in settings for that property.

Also recommended: a process to simplify sitemap generation and submission to Search Console. This is a can of worms, admittedly, but still a good idea to recommend as a best practice.
