Could you verify in your extension settings if the permission has to access data from all sites?
I noticed just now that on a new install it was turned off and that may be causing issues for Firefox users. If so, I'll have to look into how to ask for this to be enabled by default.
Looks like that fixed it, thanks! But there might be another issue. When I open a scrub window and close it, firefox (and/or it's forks) lose the ability to open the scrub window again after some(?) amount of time, until I restart the browser.
I run into the same issue. I did turn on the option shown in the image above, then restarted the browser but I still get the "Not valid Gif file" error when viewing local gif files. Gifs on the internet work as intended, but not gifs on my machine.
I'm on the newest version of Firefox, 124.0 64-bit. Any possible fix?

Brave (chromium)'s gif scrubber works with that link, but firefox on the other hand:
Firefox version: 117.0.1 (64-bit)
Brave (chromium) Version 1.58.129 Chromium: 117.0.5938.88 (Official Build) (arm64)
